CostaSheva was formed one sunny day in Ann Arbor Michigan when Deena walked into Olga’s office and said “hey – maybe we should use your method of studying individual contributions of nurses to patient care using the electronic health record and apply it to study team contributions to patient outcomes in the intensive care unit like I do? We can marry key parts of our programs of research”. To which Olga replied, “let’s do it!” and the rest was history (and a lot of hard work).
Since then, our team has grown, CostaSheva founders have transitioned to new institutions, but our commitment to our joint program of research, each other, supportive mentorship, science and the nursing workforce remain.
